FLOWERY BRANCH -- Flowery Branch used a 23-7 second quarter to pull away from Apalachee for a 66-29 win at home.
It was the first Region 8A-AAA win for the Falcons (5-14, 1-4 in subregion). They have now won two of their last three games following a 10-game losing streak.
Rudy DeAza led Flowery Branch with 15 points. Tyler McBroom added 11, and Jaleel Bailey 10 points for the Falcons.
The Falcons opened strong holding Apalachee (1-15, 0-4) to just two first quarter points. They finished the game with a 22-8 fourth quarter.
Flowery Branch next will play host Loganville on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
