Parenting workshop planned

GAINESVILLE - Can't understand why your three-year-old has temper tantrums? Are you tired of power struggles with your children? Worried because your teenager is unfocused and moody? <br /> <br /> Well, the Veterans & Community Outreach in Gainesville wants to help and is sponsoring a free workshop designed to help parents, guardians and grandparents understand the stages of child development and regain some peace in the family. It's Saturday from 12:00-1:30 at the Fair Street Elementary School Parent Center.<br /> <br /> Children are will be allowed to go to the school library and computer lab during workshop as part of the weekly open community program and the first 20 parents to sign-in will be eligible to enter a drawing for a $25 Wal-Mart gift card.<br /> <br /> The session will be led by Tena Sewell, the Intake Coordinator for Children with Special Needs, Georgia's Babies Can't Wait Program and has served as a therapist for adolescents in crisis through a local agency.<br /> <br /> For additional information contact: Michelle Lowe Mintz, 770-718-0602 or email [email protected].
