COLUMBUS - A Pickens County woman accused of asking someone to kill her husband is under arrest and will be brought to Columbus to face charges.
Columbus police Lt. Ronald Hastings said Monday that 40-year-old Johnnie Melissa Burmeister faces a felony charge of criminal solicitation to commit murder.
Hastings says the woman is accused of asking someone to kill her husband, 45-year-old Michael D. Burmeister of Phenix City, Ala.
Hastings says an informant contacted police in the case. He says the woman is expected to be brought to Columbus this week, but a court appearance hasn't been scheduled.
