GAINESVILLE - Georgia Power spent about six hours Thursday morning repairing down powerlines and replacing a pole that snapped on Shallowford Road in front Wal-Mart about midnight.
Lt. Gary Entrekin of the Gainesville Police Department says while there was some ice on the pole, another factor is being consider - the possibility that a car or truck had struck the pole.
Lt. Entrekin says, however, there was no evidence of that, such as broken glass or pieces of metal.
