UNDATED - At least four people are now reported injured in sledding accidents in northeast Georgia this week.
The latest report comes from White County where Cleveland fire units and medical personnel responded to Truett-McConnell College Monday afternoon.
Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said two females were on a sled sliding down a hill when they hit a power pole. Both were injured and taken to a hospital with what Pruitt called non-life threatening injuries.
CHEROKEE COUNTY ACCIDENT
A 9-year-old Woodstock boy has been seriously injured in a sledding accident and a youngster was injured in a similar accident in Forsyth County.
Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison told Channel 2 News that the boy is hospitalized with serious head injuries after his sled crashed into a parked car.
He reminds parents that while sledding is fun, it can turn dangerous if kids aren't careful.
Garrison said "it's an unfortunate thing and that the sled just apparently took a wrong turn, obviously, and we just hope that he'll be okay."
The accident happened on Woodview Lane in the Woodstock area.
FORSYTH COUNTY ACCIDENT
In Forsyth County incident, a young boy was injured when his sled crashed into a parked car. Forsyth fire department spokesman Jason Shivers says the injury, which was not serious, occurred when the sled, which was being pulled behind an all-terrain vehicle, slid under the vehicle.
