GAINESVILLE -- A.J. Johnson celebrated his return from the Under Armour All-star football game by leading the Gainesville boys basketball team to a solid 74-64 win over Oconee County Friday night.
It was a much-needed win for Gainesville (9-4, 1-1 Region 8B-AAA) after a 20-p;oint loss to West Hall earlier in the week without Johnson or head coach Todd Cottrell, who was serving the last of his two-game suspension.
A.J. Johnson paced the Elephants with 18 points. Quan Holcomb added 15 points and Deshaun Watson 12 for Gainesville.
