FLOWERY BRANCH -- Madison County knocked off Flowery Branch 61-51 Friday night in the Falcons Region 8-AAAA opener.
The Raiders opened a four-point lead after the first quarter and then pushed the lead to double-digits in the third quarter.
Kevin Kanca led Flowery Branch with 18 points.
Stan Maxwell paced Madison County with 23 points. Trae Burton added 10 points for the Raiders.
Flowery Branch (3-9, 0-1 in region) will try to end its six-game losing Saturday against North Hall on the road.
