Tam elected chairman of Forsyth Co. Comm.

CUMMING - The new chairman of the Forsyth County Commission is Brian Tam.

Tam was named to the post by the commission Thursday night. He is the District 2 representative on the board.

The former chairman - Charles Laughinghouse - did not seek re-election last year. District 4 representative Patrick Bell was elected vice-chairman of the Forsyth County Commission.

Also Thursday night, commissioners voted to rescind action taken last month to open bids for the design and construction of a new animal shelter. The commission may appoint a committee to study the matter further.
