Macon's Music Hall of Fame bid released

By The Associated Press
MACON - Macon's bid to continue to host the Georgia Music Hall of Fame indicates a five-year plan for the facility to become self-sufficient.

The Georgia Legislature has said it will stop funding the music and sports halls, both of which are in Macon, and has sought bids from communities interested in taking over the attractions.

Athens, Dunwoody, Dahlonega and Woodstock also have submitted bids for the music hall.

Halls of Fame Inc., a public-private partnership that is working to keep both museums in Macon, offered the only bid for the sports hall.

Macon's music hall bid outlines funding sources that will help keep the music hall operational. Macon and Bibb County have each pledged $500,000 in support over the next three years.
