LEXINGTON -- The Jefferson girls softball team closed out its Region 8B-AA regular season with a 5-1 win over Oglethorpe County Thursday night.
Kara Perry earned the win allowing just one run on four hits while striking out five.
The Lady Dragons (20-7-1, 10-2 in subregion) scored a run in the first on a RBI double from Summer Bartek and a run in the fourth on a RBI single from Paige Pate. Jefferson put the game away with two runs in the sixth.
Jefferson will play host to the Region 8-AA tournament starting Monday. The Lady Dragons will face either Rabun County or East Hall in the first round.
