ATHENS -- Former University of Georgia athletic director Damon Evans has taken a job in marketing for a company in Boston.
Evans' father Sam Evans of Oakwood on Thursday told the Athens Banner-Herald his son began working for the Markley Group within a month of leaving Georgia.
The newspaper reports that the company's chief executive officer, Jeffrey D. Markley, is a UGA alum and a significant contributor to the university. Sam Evans said his son has known Markley for a number of years.
Evans resigned July 4, a few days after he was arrested on DUI charges in Atlanta. He was with a 28-year-old woman who was not his wife at the time. He has a court appearance in Atlanta set for Monday.
Sam Evans said his son is living in a Boston suburb with his wife, who has family in the area, and their children.
