Remains may be those of Gainesville woman's granddaughter

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
GRANTS, NEW MEXICO - The remains of two people that have found in New Mexico are believed to be those of two people with relatives in the Gainesville area who disappeared eight years ago.

AccessNorthGa.com archives show that Jim Chatman and Crystal Tuggle, who was 20 at the time, were reported missing in June of 2002 while hiking in a national park near Grants, New Mexico. (See earlier story.)

Tuggle is the granddaughter of Anne Madison of Gainesville.

The search for the pair was called off in late June 2002 after a 5-day search.

Tuggle and her father lived in Albuquerque.

KOAT-TV in Albuquerque says the remains were found about five miles from where the pair began their hike.
