GAINESVILLE -- On the strength of her performances in two games last week, Brenau University soccer player Lisa Lesnick (Surfside Beach, S.C.) has been named Golden Tiger of the Week for the week of Sept. 14-21.
Lesnick, a goalkeeper, recorded 24 saves in games against Savannah College of Art and Design and No. 12 Embry-Riddle last weekend at the SCAD Invitational.
Lisa is currently the second leading goalkeeper in the Southern States Athletic Conference in saves with 52 on the season, and she is tied for 20th in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in the same category. She is coming off an All-Conference season in 2009 and has been a consistent factor for the Tigers defense in her career at Brenau.
"We can always count on Lisa to be there for us and she played exceptionally well last weekend against two quality opponents," said Coach Mike Lochstampfor.
The Tigers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Berry College for a 4:30 p.m. match.
