The Goddard School hosts mini block party event

FLOWERY BRANCH-The Goddard School® located in Flowery Branch is proud to announce it has joined Play for Tomorrow's Ultimate Block Party: The Arts and Sciences of Play, a powerful new, global movement designed to recognize and celebrate the power of play for learning. In conjunction with the national event, scheduled for Sunday, October 3, 2010, in Central Park, New York, The Goddard School located in Flowery Branch will host a special Mini Block Party Monday-Thursday, September 27th - September 30th from 4:00 p.m. - 6 p.m. with a special event on Friday October 1st at 10:00 a.m. The special event will be a Simon Says game with all the children, teachers and families in the school and our special guest, the Interim Mayor of Flowery Branch, Mr. Mike Miller.

The Goddard School has been selected as the exclusive national preschool sponsor of Play for Tomorrow's Ultimate Block Party for its well-founded approach to the importance of play in early childhood education. The Mini Block Party hosted by The Goddard School located in Flowery Branch will feature an amazing week of playful learning with families and children invited to participate in a number of fun-filled activities that demonstrate the skills 21st Century learners will need to grow and succeed. Participating in the Mini Block Party will help underscore that how we play
as children helps form what we become as adults.

"As early childhood educators, we feel that play is crucial to a child's development," says Gina Bean Diaz, owner of The Goddard School, located in Flowery Branch. "We want everyone to understand that play matters and that the time is now for us to stand up and play together! The Mini Block Party is an inspiring event that will showcase how play is essential to the next generation's academic, physical and social/emotional health."

The Mini Block Party will feature a range of exciting play experiences, including sack races, cooking activities, face painting, making sand sculptures, playing with bubbles, the hokey pokey and the special Simon Says game. Each hands-on activity will demonstrate the transformative power of play and how it can foster a lifetime of curiosity and discovery.
