ATLANTA - An official ethics complaint has been filed over Nathan Deal's financial disclosure "oversight" that was revealed last week.
Political gadfly George Anderson of Ethics in Government has lodged a complaint with the state Ethics Commission over that $3 million debt the Republican gubernatorial hopeful and his partner owe on Gainesville Auto Salvage. The loan was omitted from Deal's financial disclosure filing, something Deal said last week was an "oversight." The matter was taken care of in an amended filing with the ethics board last Thursday.
Anderson tells Georgia News Network "we need to have a candidate fully disclosing" and says he doesn't buy Deal's explanation for the oversight.
Deal's campaign calls Anderson's complaint "a nuisance."
