Robber used BB gun

GAINESVILLE - An Atlanta Highway convenience store was robbed just after 9:00 PM Friday Night.

The store is at the corner of Atlanta Highway at Pearl Nix Parkway in the old Meeks' Grocery location.

"Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a black male wearing a hooded jacket with his face covered entered the store...and pointed what appeared to be a pistol at the clerk and demanded money," Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jeff Strickland said. "After the robbery, the male fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money."

But, as he fled, Col. Strickland said, "he fell and broke the pistol used in the robbery. Investigators have determined that the pistol used in the robbery was most likely a BB gun."

The suspect is described as being approximately 6 foot tall, 230 punds.

No one was injured in the incident and no arrest has been made.
