MURPHY, N.C. -- Murphy (N.C.) held Fannin County scoreless in the first half while building a 35-0 lead and then cruised to a 55-21 win in the first-ever meeting between the two interstate schools.
Murphy used a dominating offense to pile up nearly 350 yards of offense by halftime in building its lead.
The Rebels (2-2) finally got going in the second half. Blake Henry scored on a 55-yard run and quarterback Trevor Stone connected with Ryan Nix for a 40-yard scoring strike. Kyle Kochish ran for another TD for Fannin County.
