Black bear spotted in Commerce

COMMERCE - Another black bear sighting in Northeast Georgia... this one in Commerce.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to Trace Lane just before 8:00 this morning to investigate a report of a black bear in the yard of a residence.

A state Department of Natural Resources officer investigated and is advising residents to keep garbage out of the way to avoid attracting bears or other wildlife.

This comes on the heels of several black bear sightings in Hall and Forsyth counties earlier in the summer.
