Body pulled from Lanier identified

GAINESVILLE - The man whose body was pulled from Lake Lanier Tuesday has been identified as 45-year-old David A. West of Gainesville.

West's body was found about noon after a motorist crossing Bell's Mill Bridge on Cleveland Highway reported seeing it floating in the water.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office says West had been reported missing early Saturday by a roommate and was last seen walking olong the highway near the bridge about 24 hours later. The roommate said West had been depressed.

Foul play is not suspected.
