JEFFERSON -- Kasey McDonald and Paige Pate each had two hits and three RBI to lead Jefferson to a 13-1 rout of East Jackson in four innings Tuesday in Region 8B-AA girls softball action.
The Lady Dragons (9-4, 3-0 in subregion) pounded out 12 hits in all, including three doubles and a triple.
Anna Alexander, Jordyn Whitfield, and Summer Bartek also had two hits for Jefferson, which ran its win streak to four straight. The Lady Dragons have outscored their opponents 37-5 in that span.
Morgan McKinney earned the win for Jefferson allowing just two hits and one run in four innings. She fanned five and walked none i the complete-game effort.
The Lady Dragons next will play host to Class AA No. 3-ranked and subregion foe North Oconee (8-3, 4-0) in an early battle for first place in the subregion.
Kelsey Palette and Rebecca Turner had the two hits for East Jackson (0-4, 0-3) with Turne getting the lone RBI.
