Crews work to repair White Co. restaurant lot

By The Associated Press
CLEVELAND - Crews are working to repair damage caused by heavy rains at a north Georgia restaurant.

Several inches of rain fell in a short time Saturday afternoon, washing out a section of the parking lot at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Cleveland.

White County emergency management director David Murphy says the part of the lot that was washed away measured about 200 feet long, 15 feet wide and 10 feet deep.

Murphy says no one was hurt in the incident and no vehicles were damaged. Only the parking lot and a section of the drive-in's canopy were damaged. Murphy says no other problems associated with the heavy rains were reported.

It wasn't clear how long the restaurant would be closed for repairs.
