GAINESVILLE - Hall County plans to proceed with the development of North Hall Park, other than the library and community center, as it awaits a final court ruling on the matter.
Hall Superior Court Judge C. Andrew Fuller Monday issued a temporary injunction halting the construction of the combined library-community center at the North Hall Park on Nopone Road. The injunction will not affect current work on other aspects of the park. (See separate story.)
The temporary injunction will remain in place pending Judge Fuller's further ruling on motions made in the case, and, according to county officials, particularly the county's motion for judgment on the pleadings. The county will continue the bidding process for work on the park but may not issue a construction contract for the library-community center without further order of the court.
The construction drawings and specifications are complete and are now being reviewed in preparation for putting the project out to bid. Meanwhile the construction of the remainder of the park will go forward as scheduled, with the exception of the library-community center.
"We anticipate a favorable ruling by the court on the county's motion for judgment, which, if granted, should resolve all issues in the case," Commission Chairman Tom Oliver said.
