The NAIA Women's Soccer Pre-Season Top 25 Poll was released Tuesday, and the Brenau University soccer team was listed in the receiving votes category.

The Tigers finished 9-7-2 overall in 2009 and were 4-3-1, good enough for fourth place in the Southern States Athletic Conference. The conference has expanded from 10 teams to 14 for this season and six of the squads were mentioned in the poll.

Defending National Champion Lee University is ranked in the top spot, with William Carey (Miss.) coming in ninth and Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) 13th. Joining Brenau in the receiving votes category is Mobile (Ala.) and Faulkner (Ala.).

Brenau will open its regular season on Aug. 27, playing host to Thomas (Ga.) at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex. The Tigers will scrimmage against the College Experience Elite team on Aug. 23, with the match beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Allen Creek.
