Georgia Power worker dies from burns

By Staff
ATLANTA - A Georgia Power worker from Gilmer County burned in an explosion on the job last month has died from his injuries.

Published reports in the Atlanta Journal Constitution say that Kylan Warren, 25, of Ellijay was working at a site in Milton July 15 when co-workers accidentally drilled into a natural gas line.

Warren reportedly jumped from a bucket truck in an attempt to escape flames from the resulting fire. He was burned over 80% of his body. Warren had spent the last month in Grady Hospital's burn unit.

Reports said that Warren died the same day a benefit motorcycle ride in his name was being held.
