Palin campaigns for Handel on eve of GOP runoff

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin swept into Georgia, headlining a get-out-the-vote rally for Karen Handel on the eve of Georgia's hotly contested Republican runoff for governor.

Palin and Handel entered a crowded Atlanta hotel ballroom on Tuesday to the strains of Twisted Swister's ``We're Not Gonna Take It'' and chants of ``Sa-rah!''
Palin called the runoff race ``epic'' and said the nation is watching to see if Georgia is ready to elect Handel and ``get rid of that good ol' boy network.''

``Georgia, are you ready to bring it on?'' Palin asked to cheers.

Handel and former U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal are locked in what appears to be a tight race for the GOP nomination for governor. The winner faces Democrat Roy Barnes in November.

Deal was barnstorming on Monday, hitting seven cities from Gainesville to Albany.
