ATHENS -- Mark Richt isn't afraid of starting a freshman quarterback. He has started two freshmen - David Greene and Matthew Stafford - at the position in his first nine seasons as Georgia's coach.
Freshman Aaron Murray is opening practice as Georgia's starter on Monday. Richt says this situation is different because there is no experienced backup behind Murray.
The Bulldogs' four quarterbacks for Monday's first practice are freshmen, including two who walked on the team this summer.
Murray, from Tampa, was held out last season as a redshirt.
Richt says his depth chart at quarterback has the least experience "maybe in the history of college football." Murray says he can lean on returning starters at every other position on offense.
