DNR getting reports of bear sightings

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
GAINESVILLE - Multiple reports of bear sighting reports are coming in from two sections of Forsyth County.

State Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologist Scott Frazier says the calls have been coming in the past two weeks about bears in the Shady Grove area (near the campground and in a residential area) and near Browns Bridge on the Hall-Forsyth county line.

Frazier said he has had not reports of bear sightings around the Chattahoochee Golf Club although AccessNorthGa.com received unconfirmed reports that an adult bear and cub have been spotted in that area.

Frazier suggested that if you spot a bear in a residential area to call his office and removed any outside source of food... such as pet food and garbage.
