Federal judge upholds Gwinnett trash plan

LAWRENCEVILLE - It looks like Gwinnett County's controversial trash collection plan will begin Thursday after all.

A federal judge has denied a motion by Waste Industries, Inc., for an injunction against the plan.

Judge Charles Pannell Jr. did not give any reasons for his ruling saying he'll issue them later.

That means that starting Thursday, there will be a uniform trash pickup day once a week for all homes in unincorporated Gwinnett.
