No injuries in Clermont house fire

CLERMONT - An early morning fire damaged a house in Clermont Friday but there are no injuries.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell says damage amounted to about $15,000 to the 5,000 square foot house on Main Street.

Two people escaped unharmed but Kimbrell it does NOT appear there were any working smoke alarms in the house.

He says a passerby spotted the fire about 12:15 and drove to a nearby fire station to report it. Firefighters arrived to find a fire on one of the outside walls. Kimbrell says it was quickly put out. He says the only fire damage was to the wall but there is smoke damage in the rest of the house.
