HCC approves bond agreement for several projects

GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Commission Thursday night approved bond agreements for a maximum of $31.5 million for several projects.

The agreement is with the Gainesville Hall County Development Authority for Development Authority Revenue Bonds.

The bonds will be used to finance construction of the North Hall Park on Nopone Road, for Glades Reservoir engineering and property acquisition, and administration building purchase and renovation.

The board also approved a number of bids totaling $360,000. Included is tennis court resurfacing at county parks, the playground at Mulberry CreekCommunity Center, and fire station roof repairs.

Commissioners tabled until Aug. 12 a first reading and public hearing on consider code amendments dealing with business licenses for canvassers and solicitors.

They approved the application of Kirsty Teaster to move a mobile home more than 7 years old into the county on a 1.5± acre tract located at 3168 Baker Road; approved with conditions the application of Robert J. Staples to rezone a 2.29± acre tract at 4042 and 4050 Chamblee Road for use as an indoor firing range; denied the application of Troy Ledbetter to amend conditions of an existing R-I zoning to reduce the house size on 18.72± acres at 5593 Grant Ford Road; and okayed the appointment of Lynn Adams to the Hall County Library Board.
