JEFFERSON - A stolen car and house burglary involves investigators from two northeast Georgia counties and a homeowner who returned home to find police processing the place as a crime scene.
Major David Cochran of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office says it all began Sunday afternoon when a fishermen reported finding a car in the Bear Creek Reservoir. After it was pulled from the water and determined to be empty, it was traced to a Barrow County man.
When police when to the Statham address, they found the front door open, and burglarized. The homeowner returned while police were still there.
