COMMERCE - One person was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital in serious condition following a fire in Commerce Friday night.
Units from Commerce and Jackson County responed to a report of a grill fire at 187 Cotton Street about 7:00.
Upon arrival they found a man, approximately 50-years-old, with first- and second-degree burns to his face and head. The burns were caused by a flash fire involving a gas grill.
The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to the burn unit at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he was in serious condition at last check.
