ATLANTA -- Senior Christian Turnipseed threw a four-hitter to power Harrison to a 3-1 win over Lassiter on Saturday to clinch the Class AAAAA state baseball championship.
Harrison won Saturday's first game, 8-6, on its way to its first state championship since 1998.
Turnipseed struck out seven and walked only one.
Harrison trailed 1-0 in the second game before scoring two runs in the second inning on four straight singles by Austin Neely, Matthew Allen, Preston Neely and Jason Celler.
The series was postponed by rain on Friday, and Saturday's second game was delayed by lightning.
The Ringgold at Columbus Class AAA series was postponed by rain on Saturday. A doubleheader was scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m.
