Hall County early voting dates for Primary set

GAINESVILLE - Early voting for the July 20th primaries will begin on Monday, June 7th. That is the latest start date for early voting allowed by state law.

Early voting will end on Friday, July 16th at 5:00PM.

Counties may begin early voting sooner, as is the case in Gwinnett County, but because Hall County is having a special-election run-off on Tuesday, June 8th, the Hall County Election Board wants to minimize confusion between the two unique voter events.

Charlotte Sosebee, Hall County Interim Director of Election & Voter Registration, said, "Since we are conducting a special-election run-off, we are going to try to cut down the confusion of the voters by starting our early voting for the primary on June 7th, which is the 45th day before the Primary."

State law requires a minimum of 45 days prior to election for early voting.

Early voting will take place in the Hall County Elections and Voter Registration offices at 2285 Brown's Bridge Road, Suite 2, on Mondays through Fridays during the hours of 8AM to 5PM.

"Absentee Ballots" are available beginning Monday, June 7, through Friday, July 16, for mail-out. "Absentee Ballots"can also be requested by mail or fax.

Sosebee stresses that the last day for a person to register and be eligible to vote in the July general primary election is Monday, July 21, 2010.

Sample ballots are available by mail or on their website.
