GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man has been convicted again for running down and seriously injuring a drug agent four years ago.
Chandru Dryden's first conviction was overturned by the state Supreme Court last year.
In its seven-page ruling, the Supreme Court said the state Court of Appeals erred when it upheld the verdicts handed down against Dryden.
The new trial started Monday and ended Thursday with a guilty verdict. Dryden was convicted of aggravated assault and got the same sentence he did the first time: 31 years with 18 to serve.
The incident happened in 2006 ago in the parking lot of the Kangaroo convenience store on E.E. Butler Parkway during an undercover drug buy.
