Miller coasts to victory

GAINESVILLE - Butch Miller was the overwhelming winner Tuesday night in the District 49 state Senate race

Miller defeated Jimmy Norman and Brandon Givens with 77 percent of the vote.

Miller, making his first bid for political office, will replace Lee Hawkins, who resigned earlier this year to seek the 9th District Congressional post. (See separate story.)
