FSU's Fisher and Buckley win golf challenge

By The Associated Press
GREENSBORO -- Jimbo Fisher has his first win as Florida State's coach. It came on a golf course instead of a football field.

Fisher, entering his first season as head coach, and former Seminoles defensive back Terrell Buckley combined for a 7-under 65 to win the Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament Tuesday at the Reynolds Plantation resort.

The Florida State team beat Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson and Jon Barry, who were one stroke behind. The event pairs coaches with a celebrity or former athlete from the coach's school.

Buckley's 15-foot putt for a birdie on No. 18 was the difference as the duo won $120,000 in scholarships for Florida State.

Coach Steve Spurrier's two-time defending champion South Carolina team was third in the 12-team field.
