Two charged in Atlanta with kidnap-carjacking

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - Atlanta police say a 17-year-old and a juvenile are in custody after four Atlanta University Center students were carjacked and two of them were forced into the trunk of a car.

Police say one of the students used a cell phone to call 911 from the trunk of the car where they were being held, only to be put on hold.

Authorities say the captives eventually called the Morehouse College police department, where a dispatcher alerted officers to their whereabouts.

Police made two arrests after the car arrived at an ATM in southwest Atlanta Sunday evening. They say a third suspect got away.

The students told officers the carjackers had demanded money and other items.

Police say 17-year-old Jevontay Fleetwood faces three counts of armed robbery, kidnapping and hijacking.
