GSC student named to All-USA Academic Team

GAINESVILLE - For the second year in a row a student from Gainesville State College has been named to the USA TODAY's 2010 All-USA Community College Academic Team.

Stephanie Martin Llanes of Flowery Branch is one of only 20 individuals nationwide to be chosen for this honor. Over 1,500 individuals from across the nation were nominated, and the selection process is administered by Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges.

Last April, Juan Llanes, Stephanie's husband and a native of Cuba, was named to the 2009 All-USA Community College Academic Team. The couple was married last December.

Currently pursuing a Sociology degree at GSC, Stephanie Llanes' resume includes a variety of volunteer and service organization involvement including Junior Achievement and GSCâ
