BRASELTON - Firemen were on the scene of a house fire in Braselton for about five hours Thursday morning.
The fire, which occurred about 2:45, destroyed the 1,500-square-foot structure located on Chardonnay Drive, according to West Jackson Fire Chief Ben Stephens. Officials said everyone who was inside at the time escaped unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Units from the West Jackson, North Jackson, and the Jackson County Correctional Institute fire departments responded and reports that the house "well-involved with fire" when they arrived, according to Steve Nichols, spokesman for Jackson County Emergency Services. Units remained on the scene until about 7:35.
