LAWRENCEVILLE - The Hall County man charged with causing a wreck in Gwinnett two years ago that killed four has rejected an offer of a plea bargain.
Cody Rhoden of Gainesville was in court in Lawrenceville Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News, where his lawyer, Michael Proctor, also asked for a delay in the start of his trial on May 17.
Proctor said he was hired to defend Rhoden in August and there is a lot of evidence and other material associated with the case that he still needs to review. But, Judge K. Dawson Jackson says he is not inclined to grant that request to delay the state of the trial.
The accident happened on I-85 when Rhoden's car reportedly struck the vehicle in which the victims were riding. That vehicle overturned, killing the driver, and three members of one family. (See earlier stories.)
