Supt. Shannon Adams notes that many experts feel "more and more certain" that next year could be as bad or worse in terms of the overall financial picture. That is part of a message posted by Dr. Adams in a message posted on the school system website.
Dr. Adams adds that Jackson County schools have all but exhausted practical sources for further reducing expenditures without once again cutting personnel costs.

Much has been said and written regarding the huge shortfalls in terms of revenue at the state level, and school systems throughout the state have been forced to find ways to provide educational services for their students in the face of significant reductions in funding. The experts who are watching the situation closely seem to be more and more certain that next year could be as bad or worse in terms of the overall financial picture.
