North Hall home destroyed by fire

GAINESVILLE - A North Hall home is a total loss after an overnight fire.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said firefighters got the call about 10:30 Wednesday night at the home on Westwood Trail off Hwy 129 North.

The family was home at the time, but was able to evacuate and call 911.

Kimbrell said the fire appears to have started in the basement, but the specific cause has not been determined.

Total value of the home was placed at $275,000.

Firefighters said they could see the 3,500 sq ft. home burning in the night sky from several miles away.

Two vehicles were in the garage, and were both destroyed as well.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.
