ATHENS -- Georgia basketball players DeMario Mayfield and Drazen Zlovaric have requested, and been granted, releases from their athletic scholarships, indicating their intentions to transfer from the University, according to an announcement Thursday from head coach Mark Fox.
"I want to wish DeMario and Drazen the best as they continue their respective careers," Fox said. "They are both outstanding young men and I really appreciate their efforts during the past year."
Mayfield, a 6-4 guard from Carnesville, played in 18 of Georgia's 31 games in his only season as a Bulldog. He averaged 0.9 points, 0.7 rebounds and 6.5 minutes. He season scoring high of five points came in Georgia's win at home over Florida on Feb. 27.
