More special elections set for Apr. 27

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
UNDATED - At least two more races will apparently be on the ballot in some places April 27 when voters in the 9th Congressinal District go to the polls in a special congressional election.

That's the date that has also been chosen for a state Senate race, to fill the post vacated by Lee Hawkins (Senate District 59 which includes Hall and Jackson counties) and the state House seat vacated by Tom Graves (House District 12 which includes parts of northwest Georgia).

Both of them resigned earlier this week to run in the special congressional race.

Gov. Perdue announced Wednesday that the elections to fill those vacancies will take place at the same time.
