GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commissioners sought to make it clear this week to alcoholic beverage outlets: don't sell to minors or its going to be very costly but but one vendor urged them to be fair in meting out punishment.
Pacer Fuels on Winder Highway drew a 15-day alcohol license suspension along with three other stores.
Janice Ferguson with Pacer questioned the penalty.
"Don't penalize someone who has a program like ours the same as you might penalize someone else who does not have a program" Ferguson said.
The offending employee chose to ignore Pacer's training program, sold to an undercover officer and was fired. Pacer Fuels also has to pay a $350 administrative fee for re-instatement along with the three other stores for a first offense alcohol sale to a minor.
Texaco Food Mart on Mt. Vernon Road, Minit Save on Atlanta Highway , and Freddy's ll on Dawsonville Highway also drew 15-day suspensions and fees.
Marathon Food Mart on Thompson Bridge Road drew a 90-day suspension and a $350 fee for re-instatement on a second offense in three years.
