Assisted living home planned on Green St.

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
GAINESVILLE - There is a plan in the works to locate an assisted living home on Green Street in Gainesville.

It's across the street from the First Baptist Church - at Glennwood Drive - and the building there is now used for offices.

Autumn Leaves Assisted Living Corp. wants to turn it into an assisted living facility serving 18 or fewer people and is seeking a Special Use Permit from the city. The site is already zoned Residential and Office (R-O).

The three-story building is known as the "Liberty House."

Autumn Leaves says it will create 15-20 new jobs and fill them from within "the Gainesville community."

The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board is to consider the request at 5:30 on April 13.
