DECATUR -- The East Hall boys basketball team saw its season come to an end in a 74-48 loss at Columbia on Wednesday in the second round of the Class AAA playoffs.
The Vikings (20-11) were doomed by cold shooting, hitting just 32 percent from the field.
East Hall pulled as close as 18-13 in the second quarter, but second-ranked Columbia responded to push its advantage to 34-21 at the half. Columbia put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring the Vikings 22-9 over the eight-minute period.
Charles Perry recorded a team-high 17 points for the Vikings, while J.C. Hampton added 15.
Christopher Grier paced the Eagles (25-5) with 17 points, while Northwestern signee Jerhshon Cobb added 16 points.
