Hall Co. EMS coordinator dies

GAINESVILLE - A 25-year employee of Hall County Fire Services, who was EMS Coordinator for the county, has died.

County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said Monday Capt. Tim Peebles was "a brother, a friend and a co-worker, but more than that, he was a husband to Dawn and a father to MaKayla...we will forever hold him in our hearts."

Peebles, 44, of Braselton, died Sunday at his home following an extended illness.

He was hired by Hall County Fire Services June 1, 1985 after being a volunteer with Hall County Fire Department.

During his 25 years of service he held several positions with HCFS, including Firefighter I, Firefighter II, EMT I, II, III, Training Lieutenant; he was promoted in January 2000 to Captain as the EMS Coordinator, overseeing all the EMS aspects of the department and where was currently serving.

"Tim was always looking for ways to better improve the department and serve the citizens of Hall County," Cagle said. "He was instrumental in the establishment of numerous organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Firefighters, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team, HCFS Explorer program, Automatic External Defibrillator program, which he championed, and was the driving force behind fundraisers to receive AEDâ
