GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville has been picking up almost all curbside trash at no extra charge for years, but officials say the time has come for that to change.
Owen said it's really not a change to the rules. They were supposed to charge extra all along for limbs over five feet long, bulky yard waste, and appliances, but rarely did.
He said the current economic climate has made it necessary to more strictly enforce the fees.
